Every commencing undergraduate student is assigned to a student Mentor who is in the second or third year of their course. Having already experienced life at university, mentors provide first-hand support to new students in the first few weeks of their study, when it matters most.

During the first five weeks of the semester, mentors coordinate weekly meetings with their assigned group, which can include activities and discussion of issues such as academic requirements, student discounts, and how to survive university life. If you miss O Week, you can meet your mentor in the first week of lectures. Online mentors connect with their students through live chat and forum discussions through the online student Moodle area. Check out the mentor notice board in your faculty - you'll find your name listed under a photo of your mentor, along with contact and meeting information.

If you want to become a mentor, watch out for job vacancy posters, emails and updates on the website in the lead up to each semester.
