CHESSN stands for Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number. This unique identifier is allocated to you the first time that you apply for admission and you are a Commonwealth supported student, access a HELP loan, or receive a Commonwealth Scholarship. This number stays with you for the whole of your student life.
You will be notified on your CHESSN in your Commonwealth Assistance Notice (CAN). This will be sent to you by the University within one month of the census date.
