When submitting files online in Moodle you should consider two things: the size of the file and its name. Check the Course Description or with your lecturer to see if they have any specific instructions.

File Size
Large files can be difficult or impossible to upload; you should aim to keep the files size under 10MB. You can reduce the file size by choosing Reduced Size PDF in the Save As Other option in Adobe Acrobat or by using a tool such as PDF Squeezer. Images in Word documents can impact on file size, so you might consider compressing the picture using the Pictures Tools, Compress Pictures.

File Name

Naming your files carefully not only helps your lecturer identify your work, but can help you keep track of assignments over time, across your courses. The following standard format is suggested:

      Format:    coursecode_assessmentnumber_yourname_studentID.fileextension
      Example:  BUGEN2630_2_KathyCross_30303030.docx
