Students can now apply online for parking permits at Mt Helen, SMB and Berwick campuses.
No permits are required at Gippsland, Wimmera or free parking areas at Mt Helen campuses.
Online parking permit applications can be lodged via vPermit at https://vpermit.com.au/federationuniversity using your usual Federation sign in. Detailed parking information can be found on our website at Property and Infrastructure - Parking
New permit holders
You need to do the following:
- Log in via the Federation sign in at the top of the vPermit sign in page.
- Click on ‘Apply for a vPermit’.
- Use the drop-down menus to choose your main campus and permit type (salary sacrifice is available for staff).

Existing permit holders
Your current permit information is preloaded into the system, so you just need to check that it's correct.
- Log in via the Federation sign in at the top of the vPermit sign in page.
- Go to ‘Manage Vehicles’.
- Check that your vehicle registration is correct or add a new active registration/s.
Free parking
There will be no changes to permit fees and students at the Mt Helen Campus will still have access to free parking spaces but can apply for a permit if they want to park closer to campus.
Casual Parking – Berwick
The Pay and Display option at the Berwick Campus has been replaced with CellOPark PAY-BY-APP to pay for casual parking.
Casual parking can be purchased by the hour or by the day through our ‘PAY-BY-APP’ CellOPark system. The first hour is free, then $2.00 per hour or $6.00 for the day. Instructions will be sign posted or you can download the CellOPark parking app, which is free to download.
You will need to use the relevant CellOPark zone number for registration: 1300407
Disablility parking
Federation campus maps indicate accessible parking bays for persons displaying a current category one or green category two Disability Parking Permit issued by a municipal Council. For further information visit our disability parking webpage.
