The first thing to remember is don’t panic!  We are here to support you with information, guidance and support.  Check your official results, and then seek assistance.

Accessing your results
Results can be accessed via my Student Centre

Fail grade for course/unit
A fail grade will appear on your Academic Transcript after the final results have been released. It appears as an MF if your final mark was between 40-49, or an F if your mark was under 39.

You should contact your lecturer or Student HQ to discuss your result and for assistance. Students who have failed a course can generally attempt the course again when it is next offered. If the course is a pre-requisite course in your program, you will need to seek advice from the Student HQ about the impact this will have on your overall Program Study Plan and any required changes to your enrolment.

Failing an assessment task
There is a range of help and resources listed on our 'Current students' webpage in the 'Learning and Study' section. This includes on campus, online and after hours support. You may also find the article ‘Where can I get help with my essay, assignment or referencing?’ helpful.

Appeal
You have the right to appeal against your final grade if the assessment did not match the Course Description, or if you feel that you have been disadvantaged in some other way.
Strict rules and timelines apply to the appeals process so if you have any questions or issues with your results, don’t delay in seeking assistance and make an appointment with the Student Advisory Service to talk things through.

Counselling
You may be feeling stressed or anxious about your grades and what they mean for your future plans. Whilst your program coordinator or Student HQ can provide academic guidance, you may wish to speak with someone about how you are feeling, and to help you develop strategies for dealing with stress or anxiety.  Our confidential counselling team is here to help you through this potentially stressful time. Contact counselling to make an appointment.
