You should notify your class teacher or Program Coordinator if you are unable to attend class due to illness or for other reasons. Missing classes can impact on your opportunity to learn. If your teacher has not given permission for you to be absent from class, or you have not given a reason for missing a class, you will get an email asking you to contact your teacher to discuss your absence. If you have been absent from class for two weeks without permission, your School may begin the process of withdrawing you from all studies.

Higher Education
While attendance at classes is not always compulsory for Higher Education courses, you would expect information about any required attendance to be set out in your course description. You are strongly advised to attend all classes to maximise your chance of success.

If you have been absent without explanation from classes, you may receive an email asking you to meet with the Course Coordinator or Program Coordinator , and offering to help you to be successful in your studies. You will not be automatically withdrawn from all studies if you are absent from HE classes.

If you are struggling to balance the demands of study, work and family you should make contact with staff at your local Student HQ. They will help you sort out a plan of action that fits your situation.
