Prizes and awards are a method of recognising outstanding performance and endeavour by a student of the University in the fields of academic performance, personal development, social and community contributions and/or sporting prowess. Prizes may come in the form of cash, books, society memberships and medals. Prizes and awards may be conducted at University level or at Faculty level, for example:
- The TAFE Awards for Excellence recognise outstanding performance during training.
- The Federation Award is a program open to all FedUni undergraduate students. It involves setting and achieving goals that will help the community and/or develop personal and professional skills. It aims to recognise student ambition, community impact and contribution, and personal and professional development.
- The FedAwards celebrate student achievements in a fun and relaxed way, with nominations taken across a range of categories including 'Unsung Hero', 'International Star' and 'Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Success'; go online to view the full range of awards offered.
- The School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology recognises the efforts of current and recently graduated students.
- The Federation Business School Awards for Excellence is an annual formal event where exceptional performance is recognised, both in the academic field and in behaviours that align with the Faculty's values and principles.
- The Alumni Awards formally recognise alumni for their achievements within their chosen field of study and beyond. Nominations are based on one or more of the following categories: outstanding professional achievement, outstanding academic or research achievement, outstanding service to Federation University Australia or its predecessor institutions and outstanding service to the community.
How do I apply for a prize?
The majority of prizes and awards at Federation are not awarded based on application. Check the individual webpages to see a full list of prizes, including whether they receive applications or nominations.
