In your study at Federation University you are likely to create and use material that is protected from use without permission by Copyright Law. As a student you are able to use material without permission under certain conditions. Fair dealing for research or study allows you to copy limited amounts of works as part of your study within the conditions.

If the material is to be used outside of Federaton in a non-educational environment, such as ePortfolio or YouTube, this is not covered under the Fair Use conditions that apply to education situations. There are some options for you to consider, along with tips for obtaining permissions on our copyright for students webpages. You can also contact the Copyright Office for assistance or more information.
