The Trade Taster program is an excellent way for secondary school students to experience different occupations.

The program is aimed at students in years 10 to 12 in the Ballarat region. The two industry streams offered are trades and service industries. The trade courses include carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, engineering and horticulture. The service industry courses include hairdressing, beauty, business & IT, health and community services.

Programs run one day a week for 10 weeks. You will experience two days in each trade where you will learn about the tasks and responsibilities associated with each industry. If you are interested, following the program we can help you to find apprenticeships or traineeships.

You can apply for the program by contacting the careers teachers at your secondary school. You can also find information on apprenticeships, and traineeships on the FedUni TAFE website.
