CASPer is a requirement for many of the initial teacher education (ITE) courses in Victoria. It is a non-congnitive online test designed to more effectively assess your personal and professional characteristics. If you want to apply into an ITE program you must complete the CASPer test, as listed in the Entry Requirements in the relevant Course Finder entry.

The CASPer test an online test that uses a combination of video-based and word-based scenarios. You can view sample questions on CASPer's website which will help to illustrate the type of content you would expect to see on a real CASPer test. You will also find detailed information about the technical requirements for your computer, test format, and security.

To register for your sitting or further information about the test, visit takecasper.com.

The following steps will create your CASPer account at takecasper.com:

  • enter email address to sign up
  • respond to the confirmation email
  • have your ID ready for upload by camera or scanned file for manual verification by takecasper.com
  • run the CASPer Systems Requirements Check

When these steps are completed you will have the option to undertake the sample questions in a timed simulation or to book and pay for your preferred test date and time. CASPer recommends that you complete the registration steps and book a date with a minimum of three days notice. Visit the VTAC admissions tests to ensure that you meet the deadlines for each offer round.
